What is really core in surfing?

The only essential item needed to surf is a board. Everything and anything else that is marketed in the surfing industry is just all fluff. It has nothing to do with you, the ocean, the waves, and your surfing ability. Your board will make or break your surfing and allow you to enhance your surfing ability.
